Rift & quarter sawn white oak is one of the most sought-after woods for flooring. Produced using a variation of live sawn cutting, European French Cut flooring is manufactured by cutting the log straight through and ensuring each cut is parallel to the last. In French cutting, the first and last few boards are removed to eliminate the plain sawn portion, leaving only a mix of quarter sawn and rift sawn wood.
At Logs End, we take our European Cut one step further: we engineer the wood for improved stability and to broaden its use in a myriad of applications, including residential, commerical and industrial settings. Engineering wood makes it compatible with concrete and radiant heat flooring, perfect for keeping toes warm during the frigid winter months we experience in the Ottawa and Gatineau region.
