Canadian Interiors magazine recently reported Fort McMurray International Airport received two major design awards.
Considered the gateway to northern Alberta, the Fort McMurray International Airport was designed and constructed with the local landscape in mind. Design elements capture of the character of the Boreal Forests, the Northern Lights, boasting Prairie-landscape inspired structures, and modern materials paying homage to the local industries.
What caught Logs End team’s eye was the effective use of wood throughout the construction. Passengers are clearly welcomed to an airport that is bright and airy, with warm wood accenting the build. It should come as no surprise to anyone in the wood industry the Fort McMurray International Aiport has received the BC Wood Design Award (presented by Wood WORKS!). The Canadian Wood Council honours excellence and innovation in wood use.
At Logs End, we urge everyone to reThink wood. Find your inspiration, today!
