Logs End Heritage
Logs End was founded by Gord Black in 1998 in Shawville, Quebec, but our history goes back much further — all the way to the heyday of Ottawa Valley logging. Unlike typical flooring companies that rely on cutting down new-growth trees, our original flooring collections (which are still sold today!) put the spotlight on recovered, lost timber from the Ottawa River, its tributaries, and small lakes. This approach gave new life to beautiful, historic wood while also contributing to the preservation of our natural environment.
Over the years, we’ve expanded our offerings to include new flooring options sourced from sustainably managed forests. These choices reflect our dedication to preserving forests for future generations. It’s a practice that aligns with our values of environmental responsibility and the careful stewardship of natural resources.
Our team of dedicated craftspeople takes pride in every plank of wood that leaves our facility. With our manufacturing mill located in Bristol, Québec, we are deeply committed to creating high-quality, historic wood flooring right here in Canada. From the moment the logs are retrieved from the Ottawa River or sourced through our forestry partners to the final finish of our stunning floors, every step reflects our dedication to the artistry of wood.
